Chatting with Gemini

I have started a series I am calling “Conversations with Gemini”. These are interactions that I have with Google Gemini regarding various different philosophical topics that happen to filter into my brain from time to time.

I want to share these conversations not to advocate for or against AI, but merely to explore how it responds to these types of questions.

Why? Because I know that AIs are based on large language models that use algorithms to fairly accurately interpret my questions and then search the vast collected data resources that it has scraped from the internet to provide an answer to my questions that is based upon (mostly) published content regarding the subject matter.

You will notice that in these conversations, the AI responds using human-like pronouns…which I accept as a kind of built in technique that AI employs to make the conversation ‘feel’ more human. But I know, and you know too, that these are conversations with a computer that is interpreting, organizing, and presenting data that others have already uploaded to the internet in some form.

I present these conversations without judgement or interpretation (aside from any i may include in my questions). You are free, and encouraged, to draw your own conclusions.

You are also encouraged to initiate your own conversations with Gemini, or your own favorite AI tool, especially if you are afraid or concerned about the potential dangers and/or benefits that AI includes.
